Department of Labor Redesign

The task was updating an existing website through heuristic evaluations, this is what my team did.

We imagined our user needing resources to hire veterans, and formed the user path from there. There was also an emphasis to reinforce existing nostalgia and history that seemed to be missing from the site.

Putting ourselves in the users shoes and combining user testing, we defined key problems we wanted to solve.

Based on this feedback we continued to make updates to improve flow and usability

Drawing from inspiration.

  • Getting Inspired

It all begins with an idea. We sourced the main color palette from the logo itself for a more cohesive feel. Additionally, we wanted to be inspired through nostalgia which we felt the site lacked.

  • Making It Happen

This was the final style tile inspired and developed by the team for a more cohesive and pleasant experience. Imagery, font choice and color all had to feel strong, inviting & informational but still pleasing to the eye
